Prof. Maciej Michałek, Poznan University of Technology (PUT), Poland

Biography: Maciej M. Michałek received the Ph.D. and D.Sc. (habilitation) degrees in the field of Automation and Robotics from the Poznan University of Technology (PUT), Poland, in years 2006 and 2015, respectively. He is currently an Associate/Academic Professor of PUT in the Institute of Automatic Control and Robotics, where he serves as a deputy director of scientific affairs. His current research interests concern modeling, control design, and control applications in the area of nonholonomic systems, mobile robots, articulated vehicles, N-trailer structures, and intelligent/automated vehicles. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and the Chair of the Polish Chapter of IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (in cadence 2020-2022). Currently he is a member of the Conference Editorial Board for IEEE Control Systems Society, an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, and an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Franklin Institute.

Assoc. Prof. Elena Zattoni, Università di Bologna, Italy

Elena ZATTONI received the Laurea Degree cum laude in Electronics Engineering in 1995 and the PhD Degree in Systems Engineering in 1999, both from the University of Bologna. She is Associate Professor at the University of Bologna. She obtained the national scientific qualification for Full Professor in 2019. She has been in the Scientific Board of Collegio Superiore from 2016 to 2020. She has been a Visiting Professor at Leuphana University in 2018, Aalto University in 2012-2015, University of Michigan in 2009, IRCCyN in 2003-2004, Brown University in 1999. She is Associate Editor of IFAC Journal “Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems” since 2018. She is a Member of IFAC Technical Committee 2.2 “Linear Control Systems” and IFAC TC 9.4 “Control Education”, since 2014 and 2019, respectively. She is the Coordinator of IFAC TC2.2 Working Group on “Control of Complex Systems” for the triennium 2021-2023. She is an IEEE Senior Member since 2003 (an IEEE Member since 1999). She is a Member of the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) Technology Conference Editorial Board and of the IEEE CSS Technical Committee “Educon” since 2019. She has been a Member of the IEEE CSS Member Activities Board from 2007 to 2010. She is International Program Committee Chair (with E. Zerz) of the “8th IFAC Symposium on System Structure and Control (IFAC SSSC 2022)”, National Organizing Committee (NOC) Chair of the “1st IFAC Workshop on Control of Complex Systems (IFAC COSY 2022)” and she has been the NOC Chair of the IFAC technically co-sponsored event “15th European Workshop on Advanced Control and Diagnosis (ACD 2019)”. She is Editor (with A.M. Perdon and G. Conte) of Springer LNCIS volume 482 “Structural Methods in the Study of Complex Systems”. Her research interests are focused on control design problems and structural approaches in multivariable linear and nonlinear systems, hybrid systems, switching systems, impulsive systems and time-delay systems. She is also involved in fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control design studies. She has authored nearly 200 publications in Systems and Control field.
